You all know we like to say that we “started our diet in the dumbest way possible,” by eating two weeks of plain potatoes. The truth is, yes, we got our start that way, but it has taken over a year and a half of commitment to a completely new lifestyle to get to where we are today. The potatoes were just the opening act to the biggest concert of our lives.

Ray Cronise is someone who we were first introduced to in Penn Jillette’s book Presto! as “CrayRay.” Penn lovingly awarded Ray with that nickname and from the way Penn described this “CrayRay” character in the book, I immediately knew he was our kind of person.

I first heard Julieanna Hever’s name when I picked up the second edition of Plant-Based Nutrition. Honestly, I just bought the book because it had CrayRay’s name on the cover and I wanted to learn more from him. Since then, I have come to know Julieanna as a smart, talented, funny person with a real passion for helping people navigate this lifestyle. Ray’s science and Julieanna’s nutritional expertise combine forces in The Healthspan Solution and I’m so excited to bring this content to our channel.

In the past few weeks, we have been given an opportunity to get to know both Ray and Julieanna. Our first real interaction took place on an episode of their podcast Science & Saucery. The following week, we filmed HOURS of content with them for our channel. They were both so gracious with their time, and we are so glad we got this incredible opportunity.

We hope you enjoy this two-part interview as much as we enjoyed filming it. Honestly, I feel Julieanna and Ray’s work is what will shape our entire future following this lifestyle, so I am excited to continue to get to know them better and learn more from them along the way.

    Thank you so much for your podcast with Ray and Julianna! I used to watch Julianna when she and Chef AJ did “the Chef and the Dietician”! I was at True North in September 13,2015 for dinner with Chef AJ and some others after a John McDougall conference there in Santa Rosa and Cray Ray was there eating dinner too. It was the September just after Pan Gillette has lost his weight and Ray was talking about all that til 10:30 that night! One of the best birthday nights I’ve ever spent! After I found your YouTube channel and you mentioned Presto! I then read Penn’s book, which was long after I was at True North with Ray. This Whole Food Plant Based world is a small world! (But thankfully growing and getting bigger! Ive listened to part 1 and part 2. Such great stuff!! Keep doing what you’re doing. You are an inspiration to so many people!!
