This one is for the hardcore fans. I know this isn’t our typical video, but anyone who knows me personally or has come to know me through our YouTube channel will know how much this means to me. I really hope you will give it a watch.
Back in 2003, I picked up a tiny multi-colored bear from a Border’s Bookstore in St. Louis, Missouri. I was with my mom at the time, and I remember her telling me that I didn’t need yet ANOTHER teddy bear, but there was just something about him I couldn’t resist.
Fast forward a few months and we were on another one of our road trips to see a Fleetwood Mac concert. This time we were going to Shreveport, Louisiana in what felt like a 20-hour drive (it was really just 9), and I happened to bring that tiny multi-colored bear with us.
At the time, I’m not even sure if we knew the basics of the story of PEEF The Christmas Bear. Bored out of our minds from driving all day, we started making up the most elaborate stories about PEEF. I won’t go into all of the details, but let’s just say we had some BIG (and crazy) imaginations. 😂
Since then, I have learned all about the actual story of PEEF The Christmas Bear, as written in a series of four books by author Tom Hegg. I’ve also learned much more about my PEEF and his individual story, as told through the imaginations of my mom and I.
When Brian and I started making videos, I just knew I had to include PEEF in some way! We decided to hide him in the background of our very first video, thinking our friends and family would get a kick out of seeing him there. Little did we know, as we continued hiding him in each video, many of our viewers would come to know and love him as well!
I think overjoyed is an understatement to describe how excited I was to have the opportunity to chat with PEEF’s creator and share with him what joy PEEF has brought into my life.
You see, for me, he’s not just a bear, but he represents a live well-lived and so many memories I’ve created with my amazing mom and best friend.
