It’s the most wonderful time of the year… and even though 2020 hasn’t been the greatest, I have been trying to make the best of this holiday season and enjoy the simple things in life when I can. Gift giving is something that brings me great joy. I love searching for the perfect gift for someone, and I had so much fun putting together this Top 10 list of gift ideas!
We purchased all of these products with our own money, with the exception of two of the knives that were kindly gifted to us by KYOKU. We are providing our honest opinions and reviews of the products.
If you see something you like, we have provided links to purchase. We do get a small portion of any purchases made through the links on our website, at no additional cost to you. All of the proceeds will go towards creating more content for our readers and viewers to enjoy! And a few dollars will be set aside for Peef’s wardrobe.
Salt-Free Seasoning Blends
On the first day of Krockmas, my true love gave to me… salt-free seasoning blends!
We always love experimenting with new salt-free blends and expanding Brian’s every growing spice cabinet. We have included some of our favorites below. This makes a great stocking stuffer for someone who is looking to eliminate extra salt from their diet!
Brian uses the Andy Roo’s Red Bean Creole Seasoning for his Quick Red Beans & Riced Veggies recipe, which is his all-time favorite dish to throw together.

Kitchen Organization “Stuff”
If you watched our Christmas Gift Exchange video last year, you know I love a good practical gift! Since we’ve been spending so much time at home this year, I’ve been trying to work on projects to get our lives more organized.
We seem to have every single spice and kitchen gadget known to man, so I decided to figure out a way to organize our spice cabinet and turn it into a spice drawer! I bought a set of 36 uniform spice jars and a bunch of labels. I’ll be working on a video of the process for early next year. Hopefully this will also help us transition to using bulk spices instead of getting new jars all the time.
I also got some drawer dividers to organize our super cluttered kitchen tool/gadget drawers. And of course, you know we love to use the magnetic calendar on our refrigerator to keep our meals organized!
If you know someone like me who LOVES to organize, give them a practical gift this year so they can start 2021 on a fresh note.

Griddler
It’s no secret that we love our Griddler! Back when we were doing a “Mary’s Mini,” we would use it almost daily to make hash browns. Brian also came up with an awesome Griddler tofu recipe and demonstrated other oil-free Griddler cooking ideas here.
I gave Brian the extra waffle plates for his birthday this year, so now we can use it for even more things! We made Chef AJ’s waffles using this a few weeks ago and they turned out great.
This would definitely make a fun and useful addition to someone’s kitchen!

Gift Cards From Local Businesses
2020 has been hard on so many businesses, so why not shop local this holiday season and pick up some gift cards! Whether it be a local vegan business or any other local shop, this is a great way to show your support.
If you’re in the St. Louis area, here are some of our favorite plant-based / vegan local businesses that sell gift cards:
Vegan Deli & Butcher
Chef Chris Bertke is a crazy genius in the kitchen! If you’re looking for the BEST vegan food in the St. Louis area, look no further than his awesome shop in downtown St. Charles.
Center for Plant-Based Living
Give the gift of knowledge! Caryn Dugan (aka STLVegGirl) teaches in-person and virtual cooking classes and other plant-based educational programs.
Frida’s Restaurant
This place has the holy grail of whole food plant-based eating… OIL-FREE VEGAN options on the menu! Check out this video of our night out at Frida’s.
Cookbooks
We do love a good cookbook, and they make excellent gifts! This can be a great way to share the joy of your diet, whether it be whole food, plant-based or even just a vegan cookbook. If you didn’t know, our friend Jill Dalton (of the Whole Food Plant Based Cooking Show) and her husband Jeffrey are about to release their new cookbook (pre-order link below)!
We have included some of our favorites below, including a few from Gaz Oakley (aka Avant-Garde Vegan), one of our favorite YouTubers. His recipes are not all oil-free, but they do provide great inspiration and many can be adapted. He even has a vegan Christmas book!
Of course we’d recommend our favorite book The Healthspan Solution, although some people might get offended if you offer them a book that basically screams “YOU NEED TO LOSE WEIGHT.” 😂

Gift Baskets
I love putting together a good gift basket. These are so much fun to create AND to receive, because you get multiple fun gifts in one!
I really enjoy customizing baskets for friends and family because I can really tailor the basket to each person’s interests. It is really fun to watch them go through and look at everything.
This is also a great more “subtle” way to share your whole food, plant-based diet with friends and family by giving them some of the products you enjoy using in your cooking!
Knives
If you watched Brian’s birthday live stream, you might remember that I gave him a fancy new knife. Well, he fell in love with that knife, and since then, the company who makes the knives actually sent us an amazing gift of two more of their knives!
These are not cheap knives, but I really think you get what you pay for in this case. We’ve gone years using a really cheap block of knives that cost about the same price as one of these knives and Brian has complained every single time he’s used them. I don’t know why we waited SO long to invest in a really good knife, but I’m so happy we did!
This would make a really nice gift for someone special who loves to cook. Brian especially loves the Nakiri knife for chopping all of those veggies!

Ninja Foodi 8-in-1 Digital Air Fryer Oven
I think Brian’s number one small kitchen appliance is definitely our Ninja Foodi Air Fryer / Smart Oven. He loves this thing and uses it for everything. We barely turn our oven on anymore!
We originally thought about getting a Breville Smart Oven, but it is almost double the price and takes up a lot of precious counter top space in the kitchen. After tons of research, we decided to get the Ninja Foodi.
Our favorite feature is the fact that it flips up and out of the way when you aren’t using it, leaving extra space on the counter!
Ninja SP101 Foodi 8-in-1 Digital Air Fryer OvenInsert YOUR Idea Here!
On the tenth day of Krockmas, my true love gave to me… NOTHING! I couldn’t think of another idea, so I thought instead it would be fun if YOU provided number ten!
Brian gave me lots of trouble and told me it was lazy 😂, but I don’t care! I really do want to know what your ideas are for Christmas gifts, whether they be whole food, plant-based related or not.
So be sure to watch the video here and comment with your suggestions! We hope you enjoyed this one and we wish you and your family Happy Holidays, a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! ❤️
P.S. Since you made it all the way to the end of the blog post… make sure you make it to the VERY end of the video as well… 🤔
It would be a toss up between the kitchen organizers, and the cookbooks🤶
Would love to win a Peef for my grandkids to play with and love 💕
